Microsoft team gets a bunch of new features including encryption.
Microsoft teams may not have much discussion internationally, which has managed to generate zoom over the past year, but many people swear by it, and the platform is getting better over time.
Now a team of new facilities are reaching out to the teams to further upgrade their capabilities, specifically as end-to-end encryption for one-to-one calls, to greatly enhance their security. This setting will be determined by the administrators of an organization, of course.
Equally interestingly, Microsoft has unveiled new hardware for teams - intelligent speakers, who can sit in a conference room and listen to each other to transfer entire meetings with 10 different speakers from the prestigious Can.
There is no pricing or availability information yet, but it is a promising idea that Microsoft has been working for a few years, and should also work just for remote meetings.
Another major software upgrade for teams comes in the form of extended support for webinars, which can now handle up to 1,000 participants while maintaining the ability to remain interactive and reactive, which is very impressive.
If attendance exceeds 1,000, a presentation-only mode will be swapped which can be up to 10,000 users. In fact, by the end of 2021 Microsoft is going to increase that limit to 20,000 in terms of the amount of work done from home worldwide.
And from an even more enterprise-centric point of view, Teams is getting a new feature, called Teams Connect, that will allow it to function better as a bridge between different organizations.
